Parks Canada is pleased to share Sable Island National Park Reserve’s first management plan, which was published in September 2019. The plan was developed with extensive consultation and input from the public, partners, stakeholders and the Mi’kmaq of Nova Scotia.
The management plan guides management decisions and actions at the national park reserve, and serves as a key accountability document to the public. It sets out a vision for the park, with clear strategic direction, including key strategies, objectives and targets for the next 10 years.
The plan focuses on protecting this special place in the context of past and future change; inspiring connections with people that build support for conservation; and increasing sustainability and efficiency of park infrastructure and operations.
