Part I: An overview of a research project aimed at understanding the past, current, and future change of the island. The first phase of this project is an analysis of the past 60 years of historical air photos. This understanding of the recent past, coupled with a synthesis of ocean-island sand dynamics will let us peek into the future of Sable Island’s size and shape.
Part II: Among the many insects that live on Sable Island are some that are found nowhere else in Canada, or in the world. This presentation will provide an update on what we know about these rare and elusive species of bee, moth and beetle.
