We will be offering a very special scholarship this year and we’ll be publishing details soon! This will be our seventh annual scholarship so it’s worth celebrating a bit.
Most of the application requirements will be the same as in previous years. The Nova Scotian Grade 12 student selected for the scholarship will receive $1,000 CDN towards their first year at a post-secondary educational institution in 2019. This year we will be looking for video submissions of between 3-5 minutes in length. Videos must be in one of the following formats: .MOV; .MPEG4; .AVI; .WMV. The topic will be the shipwrecks and/or the lifesaving role of Sable Island. The video submission must be accompanied by a reflective statement of 250 words or less on what Sable Island means to the student and why they have applied for the scholarship. Creativity, clarity, accuracy and content will be considered when evaluating the submissions.
