Confirmed presentation for Saturday October 21st: “Seeking Sable’s Lost Wrecks: Following a Digital Paper Trail”

With some 350 ships thought to have wrecked on Sable Island, it’s sometimes called “The Graveyard of the Atlantic”. At our conference, Bill Barton, a sailor, researcher, writer and photographer, will speak on Seeking Sable’s Lost Wrecks: Following a Digital Paper Trail. Bill’s first visit to Sable was in 1987. In 2010 and 2015 he co-directed the first on-island archaeological surveys on Sable and produced a documentary film about the island “The Magic and Mystery of Sable Island”. The research and film were conducted from on board his 36-foot sloop, Tazzarin. Bill is an engaging speaker and passionate about Sable Island. You do not want to miss Bill’s talk!
